As NEXCOM appears alongside NVIDIA in France, how does its commitment to robot safety help to gain the spotlight?
Speaking at NVIDIA's shareholders’ meeting on the 25th (U.S. time), Jensen Huang described robotics as a high-potential opportunity on par with AI. Yet, robot safety and inspection systems remain underdeveloped and urgently needed.
With a long-standing commitment to developing functional safety technology, NEXCOM stands out as one of the few companies certified under international standards, such as IEC 61508 and ISO13849-1.
This is precisely why NexCOBOT has been able to secure a position in NVIDIA’s Halos Inspection Lab ─ a fully integrated safety system developed for AI autonomous robots.
NEXCOM was invited to attend NVIDIA GTC Paris kicked off on June 11. Meanwhile, NexCOBOT, a subsidiary of NEXCOM, is also participating in the initiative, becoming the only invited Taiwanese company responsible for robot safety operations. This collaboration centers on the NVIDIA IGX Thor platform, combining NexCOBOT’s motion and sensing modules to create an all-in-one robot development toolkit compliant with international safety standards.
‘’Through NVIDIA Halos AI Systems Inspection Lab, users are able to develop a safety-certified robot in almost 2 years, while it used to take 4 or 5 years at least in the past.’’ said Jenny Shern, General Manager of NexCOBOT.
This, in fact, also foreshadows where NexCOBOT is heading. Clement Lin, Chairman of NEXCOM, stated that NexCOBOT will adopt a model similar to MediaTek’s early “one-stop solution” strategy—integrating major robot manufacturers to deliver a turnkey safety-focused robotic solution built on a scalable, standardized, and safety-certified core.
