NexCOBOT and Nexuni Launch Highly Mobile AI Patrol Robot Dog Solution, Enabling Facility-Wide Multi-Floor Patrols
Combining Nexuni's general-purpose AI brain with the NexCOBOT MARS400 Pro robot AI controller, the AI patrol robot dog can climb stairs, traverse steep slopes and uneven terrain, and ride elevators to complete multi-floor patrols — upgrading inspection coverage from "single-point monitoring" to "facility-wide patrol"
TAIPEI, September 9, 2026 — NexCOBOT, a global leader in robot AI controllers, today announced a collaboration with AI robotics automation company Nexuni having successfully showcased and unveiled an AI patrol robot dog solution at the recently concluded 2026 Taiwan Automation Intelligence and Robot Show (2026 TAIROS, held August 19–22). The solution combines Nexuni's general-purpose AI brain with the NexCOBOT MARS400 Pro robot AI controller, giving quadruped robots the full ability to autonomously perceive on-site conditions, identify anomalies, and respond safely in real time — accelerating the move of intelligent security robots from concept to commercial deployment.

News Summary
- Multi-floor high mobility: The patrol robot dog presented by Nexuni features a highly mobile design that can climb stairs, traverse steep slopes and uneven terrain, and follow elevator routes to complete multi-floor patrols, upgrading inspection coverage from "single-point monitoring" to "facility-wide patrol"
- Nexuni Quadruped Control Packages drive patrol decision-making: six core capabilities — AI autonomous exploration and mapping, localization and navigation including cross-floor navigation, dynamic balance motion control, obstacle avoidance, AI sound recognition, and AI anomaly detection for people, smoke and fire, and water leaks — enable the robot dog to independently assess on-site conditions and respond
- MARS400 Pro provides the real-time motion execution foundation: built around NVIDIA Jetson, the NexCOBOT MARS400 Pro integrates NexCOBOT's in-house NexRTOS real-time operating system and NexECM EtherCAT Master to deliver low-latency, stable, and reliable real-time communication for transmitting AI decision commands
- Deep integration with the NVIDIA ecosystem: Nexuni is a member of NVIDIA Inception and was named on the AI supply chain list announced at NVIDIA GTC 2026; its AI brain is developed on the NVIDIA AI platform, and the robot dog's locomotion policies were trained in simulation with NVIDIA Isaac Sim and Isaac Lab before sim-to-real deployment on the physical robot
- Extensible functional safety and actuator options: NexCOBOT also offers the ROBASafe functional safety controller and Actilink JD joint actuators, allowing future expansion to higher-specification safety and motion performance based on customer requirements
- The solution was demonstrated live with a physical patrol robot dog at 2026 TAIROS (August 19–22, Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Halls 1 and 2), successfully demonstrating its autonomous patrol and anomaly response capabilities in complex environments.
Multi-Floor Coverage: From "Single-Point Monitoring" to "Facility-Wide Patrol"
Most patrol robots are limited to travel on flat ground, unable to negotiate stairs, steep slopes, or uneven surfaces, which confines inspection to a single floor or level area. The patrol robot dog Nexuni is showcasing features a highly mobile design that can climb stairs, traverse steep slopes and uneven terrain, and autonomously use elevator routes to move between floors — genuinely upgrading inspection coverage from "single-point monitoring" to "facility-wide patrol."
Division of Labor Between the AI Brain and Real-Time Control: Helping the Patrol Robot Dog Truly Understand the Scene
Conventional patrol robots largely rely on preset routes and remote human monitoring, leaving them with limited ability to react to on-site anomalies. Nexuni's general-purpose AI brain uses multimodal perception and computation on the NVIDIA AI platform, enabling the robot dog to recognize intrusions, abnormal behavior, and other on-site conditions in real time and to automatically generate analysis reports, substantially reducing the need for human monitoring. The decisions issued by the AI brain must ultimately be executed by the robot dog's motion system; here the NexCOBOT MARS400 Pro plays the supporting role, using the in-house NexRTOS real-time operating system and NexECM EtherCAT Master to provide a low-latency, stable, and reliable real-time communication foundation for transmitting those commands.

From Demonstration to Commercial Use: Accelerating Deployment of Intelligent Security Robots
As enterprises increasingly seek to lower security staffing costs and improve on-site response efficiency, patrol robot dogs that can assess situations independently and react in real time are becoming an important option for intelligent security. The collaboration between NexCOBOT and Nexuni gives robot integrators and end customers a validated, fully integrated hardware-and-software patrol robot dog solution that shortens development and adoption time, accelerating intelligent security from demonstration toward large-scale commercial deployment.
